1 Socialist Trade and Labor Alliance
сокр STLA; истРадикальная рабочая организация, созданная по инициативе марксиста Д. Де Леона [ De Leon, Daniel]. Создана в 1895 в противовес Американской федерации профсоюзов [ American Federation of Labor] и "Рыцарям труда" [ Knights of Labor]; была вовлечена в конфликт Де Леона с С. Гомперсом [ Gompers, Samuel]. Имела небольшое число последователей. Распалась в 1899 из-за разногласий среди лидеров (наиболее известным оппонентом Де Леона был М. Хилкуит [ Hillquit, Morris]) и радикальных методов, неприемлемых для многих рабочих. (1852-1914) Де Леон, ДэниелПрофсоюзный деятель, политик-социалист. Родился на Нидерландских Антиллах, получил образование в Германии и Нидерландах, окончил школу права Колумбийского университета [ Columbia University], в 1883-89 преподавал там. В 1888 вступил в организацию "Рыцари труда" [ Knights of Labor], участвовал в работе клубов "националистов" [Nationalist Clubs] - последователей Э. Беллами [ Bellamy, Edward]. С 1890 член, затем руководитель Социалистической рабочей партии [ Socialist Labor Party of North America], главный редактор партийного еженедельника "Пипл" [The People]; в 1891 был кандидатом партии на пост губернатор штата Нью-Йорк. Популяризатор марксизма, переводил труды К. Маркса, отстаивал идею классовой борьбы, на почве радикализма разошелся с большинством либеральных лидеров. Участвовал в создании Социалистического альянса профсоюзов и рабочих союзов [ Socialist Trade and Labor Alliance].
